How OneLence tracks affiliates
Networks and affiliate apps such as Awin, Impact, UpPromote and Refersion recruit partners, track their own links and pay commissions. Each one sees only its own partners, so when a buyer clicks through partners on two networks, both can claim the order. OneLence tracks all your partners on your own site, in the same visitor journey as your ads, search and email, so every order has one answer.
OneLence recognizes a partner in three ways:
- A OneLence link. Give the partner a referral code and copy its link: any page of your site with
?olaff=and the code. It suits direct deals, creators and influencers. - Its network IDs. Add the publisher ID the partner has on Awin, Impact, CJ, Rakuten, Partnerize, Tradedoubler, Webgains or Admitad, or its code on Refersion, Rewardful, FirstPromoter or PartnerStack. When the network's link brings that ID to your site, the visit counts for the partner.
- Its coupon codes. Orders that use a partner's exclusive code can count for the partner even without a click.
Each order goes to the partner whose link was the last click before it. When no partner link won the order, an exclusive coupon code credits its partner. Visits from a link that carries only a network's click ID, such as Awin's awc or Impact's irclickid, count as the network's traffic. Give partners whose links work that way a OneLence link or an exclusive code.
Attribution health, at the top of the Affiliates page, lists the network IDs and coupon codes that reached your site without a partner, so you can map each one to a partner in one step. Each partner page also has an Attribution URL Test that shows what OneLence reads from a landing URL.
Coupon codes, exclusive or shared
Mark each code as exclusive to this partner or shared or public. Orders with an exclusive code count for the partner when no partner link already won the order, and mapping a code re-credits the last 30 days. A shared code, such as a site-wide discount or a code that ended up on coupon sites, is kept as evidence only, so it can't inflate a partner's numbers.
Codes come from Shopify orders, Stripe payments and landing links that carry ?coupon=.
What you see for each partner
| Number | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Link visits | People who arrived through the partner's links |
| Conversions | Orders and other conversions credited to the partner by its link or exclusive code |
| Revenue | The value of those conversions |
| Conversion rate | Conversions as a share of link visits |
| Recent conversions | The latest orders credited to the partner, with date, value and order ID |
| Payout terms | Your percentage of revenue or flat amount per conversion, used to estimate the partner's commission |
Commission checks across networks
If your store pays partners on Awin, UpPromote or Impact, OneLence checks each network's commission report against your Shopify orders before you approve it. Upload the CSV exports under Affiliates → Reconcile commissions. OneLence finds each commission's order among the last 60 days of Shopify orders and flags:
- Orders claimed on several networks, or several times on one network
- Commissions on cancelled, refunded or partly refunded orders, including ones a network already approved
- Sale amounts that differ from the order beyond your tolerance (2% by default), or come in another currency
- Claims with no matching order, or with a reference that fits several orders
- Rejections you made that a later report still shows as active
When an order is claimed more than once, rules you put in order decide which claim to keep:
- Cancelled or refunded orders. Reject every commission on orders that were cancelled or fully refunded. Partial refunds go to review.
- Same partner on two networks. Keep the claim on your preferred network.
- Partner priority. Partners you list, for example by contract, keep the commission when they're involved.
- New customers: first observed affiliate wins. For a first order, keep the partner OneLence saw well before the purchase when every other partner appeared only right before it, with a late visit or a coupon at checkout.
- Otherwise, preferred network. A commercial preference, not a judgement of who did more.
Each commission ends up as keep, review or the network's own word for rejecting it: decline on Awin, deny on UpPromote, reverse on Impact. You download each network's rejections as a checklist, carry them out in the network and record what you did, so the next report shows whether the network applied them. Commissions that are already paid or locked are marked as no longer rejectable.
Scale, hold or stop each partner
OneLence reviews each partner the way it reviews your other sources and says whether to scale, hold or stop it, with the evidence, how sure it is and what is still missing. The review can also suggest checks to make in your network: whether the partner brings first-time or repeat buyers, whether its credit window should be shorter, whether it deserves its current payout, or whether to pause new activity. You decide, and you make each change in your network.
Find new partners (beta)
Discover Partners looks for sites and creators that already promote brands like yours. It checks who ranks for your competitors' reviews, alternatives and discount codes, who links to or mentions those competitors, who ranks for "best" lists and blogs in your niche, and which YouTube, Instagram and TikTok creators and Reddit communities talk about products like yours. For each find you see:
- How it already earns. Affiliate and sponsored links to your competitors, read from its own pages, and the affiliate networks it is on, with your own networks marked.
- How big it is. An estimate of the site's monthly visits from Google.
- Why it suits you. Best for you puts first the partners that fit your business, look like your best affiliates and already do affiliate work.
- How to reach it. The public contact details on its own pages.
Save the best finds to a shortlist. When a find has a contact, OneLence drafts a first message from what it found and your program terms, such as your commission and cookie window. You read it, send it yourself and mark the partner as contacted. Adding a find as an affiliate keeps its network IDs, so its network links count for it from then on. Research runs again every month, and workspace admins get an email about the new partners it found.
Ask about your partners in Claude and ChatGPT
The same data is available in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients through the OneLence MCP server, new partner finds included. Ask, for example:
- "Which affiliates and coupon codes brought conversions this month?"
- "Show me last week's orders with the partner and coupon behind each one."
- "Which affiliate partners should we scale, hold or stop?"
- "Find new affiliate partners for our store."
Setting up partners and the commission check happen in the OneLence app. For a store, see Shopify attribution in Claude and ChatGPT.

Frequently asked questions
Is OneLence an affiliate network or affiliate program software?
OneLence is affiliate tracking and partner analytics that works alongside the networks and affiliate apps you already use, such as Awin, Impact and UpPromote. It tracks every partner from every network on your own site, checks the networks' commission claims against your Shopify orders, says which partners to scale, hold or stop, and finds new partners that already promote brands like yours.
How do I track affiliate links from Awin, Impact or CJ?
Keep using the network's links. When a link brings the partner's publisher ID to your site, add that ID to the partner in OneLence, or map it from Attribution health the first time it arrives, and the partner's visits and orders count from then on. Visits from a link that carries only a click ID, such as Awin's awc or Impact's irclickid, count as the network's traffic, so give those partners a OneLence link or an exclusive coupon code. The Attribution URL Test on each partner page shows what OneLence reads from a landing URL.
What happens when two affiliates claim the same order?
In OneLence's reports, the order goes to the partner whose link was the last click before it, and an exclusive coupon code credits its partner only when no partner link won the order. In the commission check, an order claimed on more than one network is flagged, and your rules decide which claim to keep: a partner you prioritize, your preferred network or, for a first order, the partner OneLence saw well before the purchase when the other one appeared only right before it.
Can OneLence detect affiliate fraud?
It catches the commission problems you can prove against your orders: claims on cancelled or refunded orders, the same order claimed on several networks or several times on one network, sale amounts that differ from the order, claims with no matching order, and partners that appeared only right before a first purchase, for example with a coupon at checkout.
Do coupon codes count as affiliate sales?
When you mark a code as exclusive to a partner, orders with that code count for the partner whenever no partner link already won the order, and mapping a code re-credits the last 30 days. Shared or public codes, such as a site-wide discount or a code that leaked to coupon sites, are kept as evidence and add nothing to a partner's conversions or revenue.
Which stores and checkouts does it work with?
Shopify, through the OneLence Connect app, sends paid orders with their value and discount codes, and the commission check needs it. Stripe sends payments with their value and discount codes. WordPress and WooCommerce, through the OneLence Connect plugin, send orders with their value. On any other site, the OneLence tracking tag records partner links and the conversions you send it.
Which plan do I need?
Affiliate tracking, the commission check and Discover Partners are part of every OneLence plan and the 7-day free trial. Starter reviews affiliate and partner sources, and Pro and higher plans add your paid, organic, creator and referral sources to the same review.
