OneLence works in ChatGPT through its MCP server at https://mcp.onelence.com. Connect it once and ChatGPT answers questions about your growth from your own OneLence data: where visitors and conversions come from, which channels and affiliate partners to scale, hold or stop, and what to fix in search. The briefing and the performance overview appear as interactive cards.
Connect OneLence to ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode under Settings → Apps → Advanced.
- Create an app with the server URL
https://mcp.onelence.comand OAuth authentication. - Sign in to OneLence and approve the workspace and permissions.
OpenAI offers developer mode on ChatGPT Pro, where apps can only read, and on Business, Enterprise and Edu, where an admin turns it on and apps can also save changes. You need a OneLence account with at least one website added. If you don't have one yet, start the 7-day free trial.
ChatGPT connectors, apps and MCP
What ChatGPT first called connectors it now lists as apps and plugins. Under every name, ChatGPT reaches outside data through an MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the open standard for connecting AI assistants to tools). Developer mode lets you add any MCP server yourself, and OneLence runs its server at https://mcp.onelence.com. See how the OneLence MCP server works. For other MCP servers marketers connect, such as HubSpot, Google Analytics and Meta Ads, see MCP servers for marketing.
Questions that work well
- "What should I focus on today on acme.com?" Your priorities, then what to scale, hold or stop and why, shown as an interactive briefing.
- "How did my site perform in the last 7 days compared with the week before?" Visitors, conversions, conversion rate and observed revenue, each with its change.
- "Where did last week's Shopify orders come from?" Orders and revenue by source, campaign, affiliate and coupon code, once the OneLence Connect app is on your store.
- "Find new affiliate partners for us." Sites and creators found through search and backlink research, with the reason each is worth a look.
- "Which pages should we improve first in Google?" Ranked Search Console opportunities, each with the reason and a next step (Premium).
- "Which bots and crawlers visit our site?" Crawlers and automated agents by type, with the most active ones named (Premium).
- "Is my tracking working? Did any signup events arrive in the last hour?" Event and conversion counts for that hour, with a hint on what to check when nothing arrived.
Built to be safe
- Your ad platforms stay yours. Ask it to raise a Google Ads budget and it explains that you make that change yourself, then offers to record it once you have.
- Evidence with every answer. It reports observed values and its recommendation, with how sure it is and what is still missing.
- Secret keys stay secret. Secret API keys never appear in chat.
Anything it can change inside OneLence, such as logging a budget change, is shown to you as a summary first and saved only after you confirm. You can disconnect ChatGPT at any time under Settings → Developer in OneLence.
Codex and coding agents
The OneLence plugin for Codex is in the public onelence-ai-plugins repository and connects to the same server. To have an agent add OneLence tracking to your app, see OneLence for coding agents.
Plans and roles
ChatGPT can use every OneLence plan with an active subscription or trial. AI visibility, bot traffic and SEO opportunities need the Premium or Scale plan, and registering sites or changing conversion events needs an Owner or Admin role. See pricing.
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect OneLence to ChatGPT?
Turn on developer mode in ChatGPT under Settings, then Apps, then Advanced. Create an app with the server URL https://mcp.onelence.com and OAuth authentication, then sign in to OneLence and approve. OpenAI offers developer mode on ChatGPT Pro, where apps can only read, and on Business, Enterprise and Edu, where an admin turns it on.
Is OneLence a ChatGPT connector, an app or a plugin?
ChatGPT has used all three names. In December 2025 it began listing connectors as apps, and in July 2026 its App Directory became the Plugin Directory. Each one reaches an outside service through an MCP server. OneLence's server is at https://mcp.onelence.com, and you can add it yourself in developer mode.
Can I use OneLence in Codex?
Yes. The OneLence plugin for Codex is in the public onelence-ai-plugins repository on GitHub and connects to the same server.
Can ChatGPT change my ad budgets through OneLence?
No. OneLence never changes your ad platforms. It reports what it observed in your data and its recommendation, with the evidence and what is still missing, and you make the change yourself. OneLence can then record it, so you can see what followed.
What does it cost?
Connecting is free. You need a OneLence plan with an active subscription, or the 7-day free trial. AI visibility, bot traffic and SEO opportunities need the Premium or Scale plan.
